Record this past week: 2-1-0
Thursday February 18
Iowa 3, at Chicago 2 (OT)
Halfway through the first period, the Wolves found themselves up by two goals. However the Wild were able to claw their way back and tie it with goals from Grayson Downing and Rob Bordson. The third period was scoreless and the game went into overtime. In the overtime session Zack Mitchell buried the game winner to give Iowa their first win under interim head coach David Cunniff.
Sunday February 21
at Milwaukee 2, Iowa 1 (SO)
A stellar performance from Leland Irving kept the game close for Iowa. A Pontus Aberg goal in the second period game Milwaukee a 1-0 lead, and Iowa's offense had given little hope of providing life through two periods to suggest they would be able to tie it. However Marc Hagel was able to clean up a rebound in the third period to even the score for Iowa, and it ended up sending the game to overtime. Overtime did not produce a winner, so a shootout was needed to decide this game. Iowa's three shooters did not score, and Milwaukee's third shooter (Matt White) was able to beat Irving to seal the win.
Monday February 22
at Iowa 3, Manitoba 2
Goals by Brett Bulmer and Zac Dalpe had the Wild up 2-0 early in the second period. But the Moose (formerly of Minnesota, and also the team fighting Iowa for worst record in the West) were able to battle back and score one in the second and one early in the third to tie the game. But late in the third Dalpe was able to net the winner as a shot from the circle beat Connor Hellebuyck.
