Two-goal lead with 20 minutes left. Perfect time to take some penalties.

Landeskog: 2 minutes for roughing

Zucker: 2 minutes for trying to respond to the roughing but is instead in a headlock by another Avs player. Or, roughing.

Doubles?

After a weird 3rd period with a lot of penalties and non-calls, Wild win 2-0!

That's 8 wins in a row. They'll look to tie the franchise record, 9 straight wins, Thursday in Montreal.

Love when the Avs lose - they've taken the role the Canucks used to occupy in my hockey doghouse.

Here's my thing: I'm really not big on coincidental penalties unless they are truly warranted. In the case of this particular play, unless Zucker gets his pound of flesh, Landesgoon is the only one getting the gate, or he's at least getting an extra two.

In many cases I view coincidental penalties as a copout, and that's pretty much what I viewed this to be.
